I finished reading The Secret Life of Bees this morning and was satisfied with the book. I was glad I read it and found it a bit better than The Mermaid Chair. Neither of Sue Monk Kidd's books left me with any kind of lasting impression, so I wouldn't pick up another book of hers. It was a decent read, good moral, and a happy ending...but there's something about her that I don't quite love. I have heard raving reviews about this book, but it didn't live up to all my expectations of it being a fabulous story.

Up next is Good In Bed...a book that I borrowed from Ashley ages ago...and still haven't read!

I liked Good in Bed. It was the first book by Jennifer Weiner that I read and I thought it was cute. unfortunatley I think all her other books are about the same so that was disappointing.

Sarah and I have had this conversation. I read In Her Shoes first and liked that one the best. Good in bed is a fun read, though.

They had a book by her at IKEA on a bookshelf. It was in Swedish and I couldn't even figure out which book it was. The cover was completely nondescript.

I don't know too many people who have read Carlos Ruiz Zafon's 'The Shadow of the Wind.' I LOVED that book. So much that I eBayed myself a copy of the publisher's illustrated edition from Britain last year. (Did I just turn eBay into a verb?)

Nice blog.

I was so so with The Mermaid Chair. I read it after The Glass Castle, and after reading that, it just fell short. I told my mom about it and she said she had watched the movie on Lifetime. Doesn't that say enough?
